Don’t become the problem – be the solution!
This course addresses several common problems and obstacles faced by BCBAs working in regular education settings:
Lack of understanding and recognition of the BCBA role: Many educators and administrators have limited knowledge of the full scope of a BCBA’s expertise, leading to underutilization of their skills and potential impact. This course clarifies the BCBA’s role and demonstrates their value in supporting all students, not just those with individualized plans.
Staying up-to-date with current trends and best practices: The field of education is constantly evolving, and BCBAs need to stay informed about the latest research and best practices to provide effective support to students. This course offers 2 CEUs and covers current trends and challenges in regular education, ensuring BCBAs are equipped with the most relevant and up-to-date information.
Limited collaboration between BCBAs and regular education teachers: Communication and collaboration can be a challenge due to differing priorities, expertise, and time constraints. This course equips BCBAs with strategies for building effective partnerships with teachers, fostering a shared understanding of student needs, and co-creating inclusive learning environments.
But the problem’s even worse than that! Ineffective interactions with teachers, administrators and parents can lead to problems with:
Navigating the complexities of the school system: School settings can be complex environments with various stakeholders, policies, and procedures. This course provides BCBAs with the knowledge and skills to navigate these complexities effectively, advocate for their students, and work collaboratively with school professionals.
Misconceptions and stereotypes about BCBAs: BCBAs are often pigeonholed as solely focused on behavior management for students with disabilities. This course challenges these stereotypes by showcasing the BCBA’s expertise in data-driven decision-making, collaboration, and evidence-based practices that benefit all learners.
By addressing these challenges, this course empowers BCBAs to overcome obstacles, maximize their impact in regular education settings, and become indispensable advocates for all students.

This is a great starting point on how to work as a BCBA in public schools if you are coming from a clinic or newly credentialed.
