1.5 BACB® CEUs • 1.0 Supervision • 0.5 Ethics
Practical, behavior-analytic supervision moves that grow RBTs’® clinical thinking—without adding hours.
By Christi Wilson, MS, BCBA
Tired of coaching the same decisions over and over?
✔ RBTs® pause at critical moments—sessions stall, windows close, outcomes drift.
✔ You’re pinged for in‑scope choices that should happen instantly.
✔ Oversight expands, liability grows, and your energy for high‑level work evaporates.
Autonomy you can measure.
This course gives you a practical, 4‑step framework to define, teach, support, and verify RBT® autonomy—without adding meetings or paperwork. You’ll embed decision‑making into overlaps and debriefs, use micro‑BST bursts, and apply simple tools (decision maps, ethical filters, “What to Do When…” cards) so RBTs® act timely, in‑scope, and consistent with the plan. Built with the BACB® Ethics Code in mind (e.g., 2.01, 2.02, 2.08, 2.10, 2.14–2.19, 3.01, 3.03, 3.14, 4.03, 4.04, 4.06, 4.08, 4.10, 4.11), this training helps you reduce risk while improving fidelity and outcomes.
Decision-Ready RBTs®: Supervision Strategies That Build Autonomy and Protect Your Time
Supervision strategies that build RBT® autonomy and protect your time.
Why I created this training
I realized I was training RBTs® to depend on me—not to think for themselves. That dependence slowed clients, staff, and me. Autonomy isn’t a nice‑to‑have; it’s an ethical responsibility. I built a simple way to weave autonomy into what we already do in supervision—so RBTs® respond within scope, on time, and with dignity.
Define autonomy in observable, measurable terms (e.g., “initiates prompt hierarchy within 3 seconds”) so RBTs® know exactly what independent action looks like.
Pinpoint high‑impact pauses across teaching, behavior management, and logistics in home, school, clinic, and community to turn hesitations into fast, plan‑consistent actions.
Embed 3–5 minute micro‑BST drills during overlaps and back them with decision maps and ethical filters to build fluency—without extra meetings.
Set clear criteria and run structured probes (e.g., 90% correct within ≤5 seconds, across settings) to document competence and prevent drift.
Decision-Ready RBTs®: Supervision Strategies That Build Autonomy and Protect Your Time
Practical strategies, examples, and case studies; 1.5 BACB CEUs (1.0 Supervision, 0.5 Ethics); a complete implementation system designed to save time, reduce oversight, and build confident, independent RBTs®.
Companion Workbook
Your step‑by‑step guide through the training. Reflection prompts, fillable templates, and structured space to apply the content to your caseload—turning passive learning into active planning.
The Decision‑Ready Toolkit
Quick‑reference tools for immediate use in supervision:
✔ One‑Page Autonomy Cycle visual
✔ 3 Sample Decision Trees (Transitions, Reinforcer Selection, Problem Behavior)
✔ Ethical Filter Card (pocket‑sized decision aid)
✔ Micro‑BST Quick Script Sheet (5‑minute drills)
Designed for real‑time use during overlaps and feedback sessions.
Case Study Library (10 Real‑World Scenarios)
See the framework in action across transitions, reinforcer issues, family pressure, scope‑of‑competence slips, documentation delays, and more. Each case ties back to the Ethics Code so you know exactly why it matters.
Autonomy Competency Checklist
A ready‑to‑use evaluation tool to confirm when your RBTs® have mastered autonomy skills. Aligned with 4.08 Performance Monitoring and 4.10 Evaluating Supervision, it doubles as documentation for your supervision records.
Maintenance & Booster Plan Template
Keep autonomy strong over time. Schedule spot checks, run quick booster drills, and document ongoing progress—protecting against drift and ensuring long‑term independence.
The Result
When you finish, you won’t just have 1.5 CEUs. You’ll have a repeatable system—tools, templates, and case studies—that makes supervision more efficient, reduces liability, and builds decision‑ready RBTs® who strengthen your entire practice.
Who is this for?
✔ BCBAs®/BCaBAs® supervising RBTs® who want fewer interruptions and faster, in‑scope decisions.
✔ Clinical leads/owners who need a repeatable system for autonomy across home, school, clinic, community.
✔ Supervisors seeking Supervision + Ethics CEUs with immediately applicable tools.
I appreciate how thorough the class is with providing actionable steps for a provider to take immediately with their staff. It is encouraging to have classes that teach how to support and value staff as whole individual outside of mere productivity.

(What Your Training Didn't Cover)
Will this add to my workload?
No. You’ll embed micro‑BST bursts and decision tools into existing overlaps and debriefs—3–5 minutes at a time.
How does this support ethics and reduce risk?
You’ll train timely, in‑scope decisions tied to the written plan, use ethical filters for escalate‑vs‑act calls, and document competence via structured probes—all aligned with BACB® code areas noted above.
What tools are included?
Editable decision maps, ethical filters, “What to Do When…” flowcharts, micro‑BST scripts, probe rubrics, and decision logs.
Do I get CEUs and a certificate?
Yes—1.5 BACB® CEUs (1.0 Supervision, 0.5 Ethics). Complete the post‑test and evaluation to receive your certificate.
